Oh what a glorious weekend
We had one of those weekends where we did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
And it was glorious!
Neither of us had any plans or obligations and we both decided to keep it that way. We haven't both had a weekend like this in a long time, so it was welcomed.
I also started to feel my chest get all numb and scratchy over the past couple days - so I thought that a weekend of literally laying around was a good remedy to get rid of this cold before it got any worse!
We also had me familia over last Thursday night for some pizza and hanging out!
Adam (my bro) came and slept over that night too! This little sicky was throwing up the entire time!
You can bet that I bleached all surfaces after everyone left...I didn't want to risk feeling worse than I was already starting to feel :-)
Hope you all had a good weekend!

Finding use in things lying around
I wanted to fill the wall above the couch in our living room but didn't want to spend much money on it.
I had a box FULL of picture frames of all shapes, sizes and colors.
I decided to paint all of the frames white.
And then filled them with scrap paper.
And hung them on the wall.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
I want to fill it more.
And will ultimately change some out and add other things... I'm not quite sure yet.
But for now it works.

Bedroom makeover
I'm slowly but surely making my way around the house, room to room and trying to make it feel homey and 'filled'.
First up - our bedroom.
My brother and sil left their poster bed, so I gave it a couple fresh coats of paint and rigged it together with our bed and frame.
I also added a plate (found at Dollar Tree) and two mirrors from the apartment that used to be black but I painted them white! I ordered a vinyl decal monogram that I'm going to stick in the middle of that plate. So cute - I'm a little monogram obsessed lately...
I just LOVE the look of it. It looks so comfy and dreamy to me! And simple.
I bought these vinyl decals at Dollar Tree! I couldn't believe it! Some were cheesy and for kids but I found a few that were useful for me. I bought a wooden board from Hobby Lobby and painted it white. Then cut and stuck the vinyl decal to the dried board. I used upholstery tacks to attach the ribbon and hang it. You can't tell but the walls are robin egg blue-ish.
I found these gold frames at Walgreen's today for $3! I made a little mr. and mrs. sign with scrap paper and mod podge and printed out pictures of us.
Then spray painted a small black picture frame white and inserted a vellum quote over a piece of scrap paper and voila!
Oh I used some painters tape to add some ribbon to the back of the frame and feux hung the ribbon with an upholster tack. I love that wall.
This is the only yuck part of the room right now. Remember that armoire? Well it's primed, waiting to be painted and then will replace that small little shelf thing. I can't wait to get that in there!

To keep me humbled...
A few weeks ago I had the worst tooth pain that I think I've ever experienced.
Turns out I had a root canal that got abscessed and infected.
So...I had to have my {molar} tooth pulled. It didn't hurt one bit, have I ever told you all how much I LOVE Novocaine?!
The day before I got my tooth pulled the dentist (whom I actually like) made me 'comfortable' for the night so I could make it through. He basically gave me some pain killers and a shot of Novocaine.
Immediately after the shot of Novocaine, my one side of my face swelled up - it literally looked like I had a golf ball in my cheek.
Evidence...
And the oral surgeon said they nicked a blood vessel, so along with the golf ball cheek I also had a lovely bruise that slowly, day by day went through the stages of bruising.
It was load of fun :-) My cheek is still slightly numb, but I read that it could take up to 6 months I think, so I'm not worried.
Thought I'd share that with you all!!! :-)

Lamp Redo
Remember this red and black lamp?
Well if you don't, here it is!
When we moved I switched out black for brown in our living room and kept the red (for now at least because why are slip covers so expensive?!).
So I decided to redo our lamp instead of buying a new one!
I LOVE how it turned out. I'm working on staining our coffee and side table darker than it is to match the darker brown in the living room.
I found this cute trim at Hobby Lobby. It was so easy, I seriously used the lamp, fabric, trim, spray adhesive and hot glue!
The only thing that I do not like is that I didn't cut my edges of my fabric evenly so it looks all yuck on the inside of the lamp, but hopefully it's not that noticeable.

A fall wreath
Remember that aforementioned wreath that I basically got for free at a garage sale?
Well...I gave it a makeover (can you tell I'm in a makeover binge? The wheels in my head just keep turning and turning!).
You can't really see it, but I got the twiggy wreath part with some old fake hydrangeas at the garage sale. I just bought some fall leaves from the craft store, a wooden plaque and a wooden letter!
I'm SOOO in the mood to decorate for fall but I fear it's too early... I don't think I really care anymore - I want fall here so bad after the cooler weather we had last weekend, I love fall :-)
What's your favorite season?

Garage Sale Day
About a month ago - we found out that it was Garage Sale Day here in our town. I had no clue, but loved the though of it. Especially since we had just moved in and I had a few things in mind that I wanted.
Come to find, I found one of those things...
I was so excited when we found it. It's an armoire! I still want one more and would love a really nice one, but hey - who can complain when it was ONLY $35 and already assembled!
Of course this girl is in transition - she's getting a few coats of some white paint and I know just where she's going! :-)
The lady that we bought it from was just trying to get rid of stuff so she threw in one of those wooden wreath thingies...more to come on what happened to that!

A new obsession
Since we've moved, we're much much closer to a stretch of stores...as you could guess, this could be dangerous :-)
I realized last week that Hobby Lobby is right down the road and have been there twice since...
I got EVERYTHING in the following picture for $50!! I know that kind of sounds like a lot but I really did get a whole lot!!
I found this awesome clearance aisle and with my 'repurposing mind' swirling, found alternative/cheap things that I could use to substitute what was going to cost much much more. So that was pretty awesome!
I happened across a pile of these signs with a quote from Sarah Palin...you can be sure that I'm using this for something else and it will be covered... :-) They were only $1.80 each and I needed 9 objects around this shape and size for a project I'm working on and it couldn't have found them at a better time!
Those two decorative tall thingys were ohhh...about $3! Can you believe it? I didn't realize until I got home that the same little piece on each of them was missing, but it doesn't bother me - you can't hardly tell. And that grape sign was $2 something...I have some great ideas for that little pretty!
Oh my head is just swirling...
I found this cute little thing at WalMart and couldn't help but get it.
And can I just say...
I think I may be addicted to spray paint. I don't know...
:-)
Hope you all are having a good weekend!

We've moved!
Well, we've finally done it! :-)
We're all moved and unpacked (for the most part).
Here's what you all (well maybe a couple of you :-)) have been asking for...
Bear with me, there are A LOT of pictures to follow, and I am not joking...I did a 'walk through' of the new place and took pictures as I went. I have SO much decorating that I want to do, but that takes time and money and slowly but surely we'll make it into our homey home!
From the drive way
Walking up to the front door (I want a topiary tree for right there :-))
Walking in through the front door
Another shot from the front hallway/door
I turned around...looking at the door :-) We finally got to put up our awesome MCINTYRE sign that we got from Ryan's aunt and cousin for our wedding - love it!
Through the living room and looking into the dining room
Looking into the kitchen from the dining room
Looking into the kitchen from the other side (of the kitchen)
The half bath on that side of the kitchen (I love having two bathrooms and I love the color in there!)
The garage (I also love having a garage...do you notice some 'projects' in there?!)
Up the stairs we go...
Oh, hold on...there's another set :-)
The hallway upstairs - we also got to put up our wedding canvas...I want to get it framed though
Into the office, which is turning out to be the 'catch all' room at the moment until I feel like fully putting things away...
And the guest bedroom (again...have some major decorating and homifying ((that's a word)) to do
The other half of the guest room (and Roxy too)
The laundry room (love love love having a laundry room! No more quarter hording!)
Walking into the master bedroom
Oh hold on...pit stop at the bathroom on the way!
The other half of the bathroom - we have a tub with a shower and a shower stall
Into the master bedroom (I made the brown curtainish thing at the top there - so proud of myself and my Nester inspired mis-treatments that I made out of sheer desperation after waking up at 630am consecutively on the weekends...). I have to say I am pretty darn proud of myself!
The other half of the bedroom. On of my 'projects' will be going here. Roxy is quite the little camera hog today, huh?!
Our ohsovery organized closet...
Our 'backyard' and patio.
The End.
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
Come back now ya'll ya hear?!
Hopefully I'll be updating more frequently... I have so many projects and ideas swirling around in this head of mine that I should be able to keep this blog afloat!

Monogram ideas

I was browsing etsy - spending way too much time sifting through all the stuff on there.
I often find myself getting lost on there while 'window shopping'. Does that ever happen to you?
I came across this find.
I think I might have to try to recreate it when we move. I think I love it.
