Just keeping it real

I once saw a tag on a blog I used to read. It was the 'keeping it real tag'. The point was to go right then and take pictures of certain things. NO cleaning, NO picking up, NO altering! Since I'm fresh out of interesting things to blog about here goes... Feel free to copy if you have blogger block too!

The toilet:
Sorry to say but you don't get a super close up! ha! Our toilet seat is old and starting to cheap. Which then in turn makes it look dirty on the seat... Can't wait to move :-)

The sink:
Those of you who know me well know that I am a neat, clean, orderly Type A personality. You sure are getting the raw version of me here. I have just felt so lazy lately and have been slacking on 'chores'. Here's the sink! The right side full because the dishwasher still needs emptying...

The closet:
I just went through my side (the right side) so it looks pretty good (if you got a close up...). Minus the shoes all over my side, I have a habit of just tossing them in there...

Favorite Room in the House:
Lately it's been the bedroom. I've been loving sleep lately! I think because it's been so rainy here.

The fridge:
You get the freezer too - isn't it your lucky day?! See our wedding cake taking up a quarter of the freezer?! I am bad at cleaning tupperware out of the fridge, very bad. I don't know why we keep leftovers, we never seem to eat them...

The Laundry Room:
Since we're in an apartment and share the laundry room with 11 other units - I don't quite feel like walking down there right now to take a picture of it. Sorry, folks! I will, however, keep it VERY REAL and show you the mounds of laundry that (exhibit a) needs so badly to be done (I loathe needing quarters to do laundry - did I mention that I can't wait to move?!) and the mounds of laundry (exhibit b) that is longing to be hung and put away. How's that for keeping it real?!

What the Kids are Doing:
Well fancy this...I got them both in the same room at the same time - and not even on purpose. They both happened to be there. This is as far as it goes in terms of kids for now. Looks like Roxy (the cat) wants something from me and Mason (the dog, obviously) wants something from her!

Favorite Shoes:
I couldn't really pick so I went with flip flops because who doesn't love them?! And the Nine West flats that I seem to be wearing every single day for work - oh how I love flats lately... Can you tell I've been wearing them often...they seem a little bent out of shape.

Self Portrait:
Here we are! Just relaxing at home... My hubby is in the other room playing on the guitar and I've been on this darn computer for well over an hour. I swear, the computer is the devil! :-)

A horse is a horse

**warning...lots and lots of pictures ahead**

We went to Arlington Park a few weekends ago while my father-in-law was in town. It was a VERY nice day and such a great time. We went with both sides of our families. It was more fun than you'd naturally think :-)

Sundays are family days - so they had a petting zoo where you could feed the animals.

Ava got to feed the goats, pony, donkey, lama (and there were ducks, pigs and I think that's all!).

I wanted to take home that little goat in the middle. It was too petite and cute looking. I'm sure it wouldn't be all good lovely as a house pet though...

We even watched some races (imagine that!).

And bet on a few... Most we won was maybe $4...

Colin and Ava went on the pony rides.

I felt kind of bad for the ponies and the horses...they whip the horses. It just looks so scary!

Ryan even got to feed some animals. I did too! It was such a weird feeling to have their lives/teeth rubbing against your hand!

Mason wasn't at the petting zoo, but he just wanted to say 'hi guys'! :-)

Why a daughter needs a father...

because she just does.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the best father in the world!

I love you so much dad and I am truly blessed to have you in my life.

Rockin' with Dad

We had our first 'real' house guest a week ago.

Ryan's dad came into town for his and his brother's birthdays. He stayed with us for a few days and R's brother for a few days.

The boys got to play A LOT of guitar! I really didn't mind because I got to retreat to the bedroom and watch many recorded shows of mine that I had been longing to watch anyhow - so it worked out very nicely. I'm one for a relaxing night if you know me! :-)

They even recorded a couple of 'songs'. I thought it was nice the my husband got to spend some quality 'jamming' time with his dad.

Don't they look like a bunch of rockstars?! :-)

Movin' on up

We are moving!

Yay!

We'll have much more room, an extra half of a bathroom, a garage to house both of our cars...

We simply can't wait!

Our moving weekend is scheduled for the weekend of July 25th. We are going to be renting and then eventually buying my brother and sister-in-law's townhouse. It's so darn cute - I can't wait to decorate it!

My bro and sil don't move until the following weekend, so we'll all be roomies for a week! That'll be fun! We're going to have 2 households worth of stuff, 4 adults, 2 dogs and a cat (and a partridge in a pear tree...ha!).

Here's to attempting to pack early, pack often... :-)

A cool summer treat

I came across this idea while playing the Yahoo crossword puzzle and thought I had to try it.

Go out and get yourself some of your favorite flavors of Yoplait Whips! and pop them in the freezer.

All you do is freeze and voila!

You have 'frozen yogurt'!
